Rogaine Foam Reviews – Are There Really No Rogaine Side Effects?

Rogaine Foam ReviewsWhen you think of hair loss, a balding man usually comes to mind. However, women also struggle with hair loss, and often find fewer resources than those available to men. Rogaine boasts that it will stop hair loss and regrow new hair in both men and women.

How many times has a hair loss product made that same claim? Can Rogaine live up to its hype? The following Rogaine Foam Reviews will reveal some important facts…

What is Rogaine?

Rogaine is the first FDA approved, topically applied hair restorer in the United States, and was available only by prescription for many years. It was approved for over the counter use in 1996. Unbelievably, the active ingredient in Rogaine, Minoxidil, was an accidental discovery! It was being tested for use as a high blood pressure medication, but hair growth was the result. Since this fortuitous discovery, Rogaine has become the world leader in reversing hair loss and growing new hair where there once had been none. Rogaine is now available for both men and for women, giving women one more tool in their hair loss arsenal.

How Rogaine Works

The main reason for hair loss for women is due to Female Pattern Baldness (FPB), a genetic pre-disposition for hair loss, while men face Dihydrotestosteron (DHT), a disastrous mixture of genetics, enzymes, and testosterone (read more about Female Hair Loss here). Rogaine can help treat these causes and comes as a topical solution which is applied to the scalp twice a day. Each contains an FDA approved ingredient called Minoxidil in the topical solution – 5% for men, and 2% for women. Rogaine is not a scam, and has more than 20 years of results to back it up.

Rogaine prices range from $24.95 to$ 59.95.

Research Results for Rogaine

Rogaine has made many claims, but does it work? In the latest studies, 85 percent of men experienced hair regrowth after 16 weeks, and 60 percent of women experienced hair regrowth after 32 weeks.

One happy individual has said, “Ladies, it does work… stick with it. You will be glad you did”, while another said “…I have been putting Rogaine on my scalp for a little more than a year and saw some hair growing back in the crown area. But my hairline does not seem to get affected at all, although I always make sure that it gets fully covered when I am applying it…

As with most hair loss products, it does have mixed reviews and results will differ from person to person.

Advantages of Rogaine

  • Simple one-step process
  • FDA approved ingredients which makes it safe
  • Has been proven to work in most people

Disadvantages of Rogaine

  • Rogaine Side Effects: Possible Itching, redness, dryness or flaking of the scalp at first
  • Unwanted hair growth on other areas of the body

Verdict

Based on product research and user remarks, Rogaine has helped those who want to stop hair loss and/or regrow new hair. However some people did report that it lets good hair fall out before it grows back stronger and unwanted hair loss on other areas of the body – and for this reason Procerin (Provillus vs Rogaine) seems to be a better alternative.
